Hailing from Carol City, FL, Dunk Ryder Records recording artist Da Hood Candymann, is the latest rap prodigy this independent label is set to blaze the industry with. The 19-year old intelligent, has used an assortment of past struggles and influences to mold him into the dynamic character of Da Hood Candymann.

Growing up in the Miami area, Da Hood Candymann relishes his memories of the hood and only wants to give back to the community, which has molded him into the confident individual he is today. There’s nothing he wants more but to give back to his community, he says. He wants to be that person from the community that people can look up to. It’s a positive thing, with the release of his Mixtapes Candy Land Vol.1 – Vol.3 and currently working on his Dunk Ryder project ready to drop this year and it’s sure as hell going to generate a huge buzz. Has already sizzled across the South and hopes that will transcend into more anticipation for his new project.

In today’s industry a lot of the music is recycled, said Da Hood Candymann. He’s versatile in terms of what he talks about and his message to all up and coming rappers / singers. The work of this musical stickler has produced some of Da Hood Candymanns favorite tracks like up against the world and late night special. He’s looking forward to take this track international not only here to perform in Miami, and have his family from Dunk Ryder records to stage with him, he said. So, He listened to some of his songs and memorized them. He couldn’t believe that he knew his songs. He wants to take trips outside and all over Florida, but he has a job to do here in Miami.

Da Hood Candymann lyrical style and delivery assimilates him to the likes of Snoop Dogg, Trick Daddy and Slick Rick. He’s a real person and the things he talks about are real, he states. He thinks artists out there today, aren’t what they really portray themselves as. He talks about the bad and good things He’s done in life. Da Hood Candymanns engaging personality stems from a childhood highlighted by learning. He believes the drama thru his high school years have made him who he is today. He’s already been through the worst, he said. He never really had the sense of friends in his life, which has made him stronger. There isn’t many things that can make him upset. His determination to excel at his craft grew from the support of the streets and what he’s been thru. The underboss is who noticed his skills and pushed him towards pursuing a musical career during his teenage years.

Music has always been apart of Da Hood Candymanns life, but so has writing. He began producing poetry in middle school and found it as a sense of spiritual freedom. Through his poetry, Da Hood Candymann was able to unleash a skill for writing, which correlates to his ability to compile masterful lyrics apart of Dunk Ryders lineup. His ultimate goal is to get a Grammy one day, he boasts. He just wants to be as successful as he can be.
